November 2 Message from Our Lady of Medjugorje to Mirjana

November 02, 2013 Message to Mirjana

Our Lady of Medjugorje“Dear children; anew, in a motherly way, I am calling you to love, to continually pray for the gift of love, to love the Heavenly Father above everything.

When you love Him you will love yourself and your neighbor. This cannot be separated. The Heavenly Father is in each person.

He loves each person and calls each person by name. Therefore, my children, through prayer hearken to the will of the Heavenly Father.

Converse with Him. Have a personal relationship with the Father, which will deepen even more your relationship as a community of my children – my apostles.

As a mother I desire that through the love for the Heavenly Father, you may be raised above earthly vanities, and may help others to gradually come to know,

and come closer to the Heavenly Father. My children, pray, pray, pray for the gift of love because ‘love’ is my Son.

Pray for your shepherds that they may always have love for you as my Son had, and showed by giving His life for your salvation.

Thank you.”

The Soul’s Acts Done in the Divine Will on Earth and the Effect of Those Acts in Purgatory

The Soul’s Acts Done in the Divine Will on Earth and the Effect of Those Acts in Purgatory

November_Holy_Souls_PurgatoryBOOK OF HEAVEN

11/3/26 – Vol. 20
The more the soul has done the Divine Will on earth, the more Paths she has formed for herself in order to receive suffrages in Purgatory.  The more the soul possesses of the Divine Will, the more value her prayers, works and pains contain.

I continue to live all abandoned in the adorable Will; and while I was praying, I thought to myself:  “How I would like to descend into the prisons of the purging souls to release them all, and in the Light of the Eternal Will, bring them all to the Celestial Fatherland.”

At that moment, my sweet Jesus, moving in my interior, told me:  “My daughter (Luisa), the more the souls who have passed to the next life have been submitted to My Divine Will, and the more acts they have done in It, the more Paths they have formed for themselves in order to receive suffrages from the earth.  So, the more they have done My Divine Will, forming for themselves the ways of communication of the Goods that are present in the Church and that belong to Me, there is no Path formed by them that does not bring, to some a relief, to some a prayer, to some a diminution of pains.  The suffrages walk within these royal Paths of My Divine Will, to bring to each one the Merit, the Fruit and the Capital that one has formed for oneself in My Divine Will.  Therefore, without It, there are no Paths and no means in order to receive suffrages.  Even though the suffrages and everything that the Church does always descend into Purgatory, they go, however, to those who have formed Paths for themselves.

“For the others, who have not done My Will, the Paths are closed or do not exist at all; and if these were saved, it is because at least at the point of death they have recognized the Supreme Dominion of My Divine Will, they have adored It, and have submitted themselves to It—and this last act has rescued them; otherwise, they could not even be saved.  For one (Luisa) who has always done My Divine Will, there are no Paths to Purgatory—his Path goes straight to Heaven.  And one who has recognized My Divine Will and has submitted to It, not in everything and always, but in great part, has formed for himself so many Paths and receives so much, that Purgatory sends him quickly to Heaven.

“Now, just as the purging souls had to form their Paths to be able to receive suffrages, in the same way, the living, in order to send suffrages, must do My Divine Will in order to form their Paths, so as to make their suffrages ascend into Purgatory.  If they make suffrages, but they are far away from My Divine Will, since the communication with My Divine Will is missing, that alone unites and binds everyone, their suffrages will not find the way in order to ascend, the feet to be able to walk, the strength in order to give relief.  They will be suffrages without Life, because the True Life of My Divine Will is missing, that alone has the Virtue of giving Life to all Goods.

“The more the soul possesses of My Divine Will, the more value her prayers, her works, her pains, contain; and so she can bring more relief to those blessed souls.  I (Jesus) Measure and give Value to everything that the soul can do, according to how much of My Divine Will she possesses.  If My Divine Will runs in all of her acts, the Measure I take is immense; even more, I (Jesus) never stop Measuring, and I put so much Value into it, that its weight cannot be calculated.  On the other hand, if one does not care much about My Divine Will, the Measure is scarce and the Value of little importance.  And if one does not care at all, as much as the soul may do, I (Jesus) have nothing to Measure, nor any Value to give.  Therefore, if they have no Value, how can they bring relief to those souls who, in Purgatory, recognize nothing, nor can they receive anything, but what My Eternal Fiat produces.

“But do you know who can bring all Reliefs, the Light that Purifies, the Love that Transforms?  (Luisa) One who possesses the Life of My Divine Will in everything and in whom It Dominates Triumphantly.  This soul (Luisa) has not even need of Paths, because by possessing My Divine Will, she (Luisa) has the Right to all Paths.  She (Luisa) can go to all points, because she (Luisa) possesses within herself the Royal Path of My Divine Will in order to go into that deep prison, to bring them all Reliefs and Liberations.  More so since, in creating man, We gave him Our Will as his Special Inheritance, and We recognize everything he has done within the Boundaries of Our Inheritance, with that We Endowed him.

“Anything else is not recognized by Us—it is not Our Thing, nor can We allow anything to enter Heaven that has not been done by creatures either in Our Will, or at least in order to do It.  Since Creation came out of the Eternal Fiat, Our Will, jealous, allows no act to enter the Celestial Fatherland that has not passed through Its Fiat Itself.  Oh! If all knew what Will of God means, and how all works, even those that appear to be Good, but are empty of It, are works empty of Light, empty of Value, empty of Life; and works without Light, without Value and without Life do not enter into Heaven.  Oh! how attentive they would be to do My Divine Will in everything and forever.”

Feast of All Souls Day – November 2

FEAST DAY OF ALL SOULS

Feast of All Souls

NOVEMBER 2

All Souls — The need and duty of prayer for the departed souls has been acknowledged by the Church at all times. It is recommended in the Scriptures of the Old Testament (2 Macch. 12, 46), and found expression not only in public and private prayers but especially in the offering of the Holy Sacrifice for the repose of souls. The customary dates for public services of this kind were, and still are, the day of death and burial, the seventh and thirtieth day after death (Month”s Mind Mass), and the anniversary. Except for the funeral Mass, the actual observance of these dates is not made obligatory by the Church but left to the piety of relatives and friends of the deceased.

The memorial feast of all departed ones in a common celebration was inaugurated by Abbot Saint Odilo of Cluny (1048). He issued a decree that all monasteries of the congregation of Cluny were annually to keep November 2 as a “day of all the departed ones” (Omnium Defunctorum). On November 1, after vespers, the bell should be tolled and afterward the Office of the Dead be recited; on the next day all priests had to say Mass for the repose of the souls in purgatory.62

This observance of the Benedictines of Cluny was soon adopted by other Benedictines, and by the Carthusians. Pope Sylvester II (1003) approved and recommended it. It was some time, though, before the secular clergy introduced it in the various dioceses. From the eleventh to the fourteenth centuries it gradually spread in France, Germany, England, and Spain, until finally, in the fourteenth century, Rome placed the day of the commemoration of all the faithful departed in the official books of the Western Church for November 2 (or November 3 if the second falls on a Sunday).

November 2 was chosen in order that the memory of all the “holy spirits” both of the saints in Heaven and of the souls in purgatory should be celebrated on two successive days, and in this way to express the Christian belief in the “Communion of Saints.” Since the Feast of All Saints had already been celebrated on November 1 for centuries, the memory of the departed souls in purgatory was placed on the following day.

In the Greek Rite the commemoration of all the faithful departed is held on the Saturday before Sexagesima Sunday, and is called the “Saturday of the Souls” (Psychosabbaton). The Armenians celebrate it on Easter Monday, with the solemn Office of the Dead. The Mass, however, is that of the Resurrection. An interesting and moving observance is held in the Syrian-Antiochene Rite where they celebrate on three separate days: on Friday before Septuagesima they commemorate all departed priests; on Friday before Sexagesima, all the faithful departed; and on Friday before Quinquagesima, “all those who died in strange places, away from their parents and friends.”

Pope Benedict XV in 1915 allowed all priests to say three Masses on All Souls” Day in order to give increased help to the suffering souls in purgatory. The Church has also granted to all faithful special privileges of gaining indulgences for the holy souls on November 1 and 2. The Office of the Dead is recited by priests and religious communities. In many places the graves in the cemeteries are blessed on the eve or in the morning of All Souls” Day, and a solemn service is usually held in parish churches.

The liturgical color at all services on November 2 is black. The Masses are part of the group called “Requiem” Masses because they start with the words Requiem aeternam dona eis (Eternal rest grant unto them).

The sequence sung at the solemn Mass on All Souls” Day (and on other occasions) is the famous poem Dies Irae (Day of Wrath) written by a thirteenth-century Franciscan. It has been often ascribed to Thomas of Celano (1260), the friend and biographer of Saint Francis of Assisi, though the authorship is not certain.

CHAPTER FROM THE BOOK OF HEAVEN

 LUISA AND SOULS

Luisa_Piccarreta_5

Volume 30 – December 25, 1931 “My daughter (Luisa), come into this Light—I (Jesus) want you (Luisa) here.  The virtue of My Light, Its Motion as Fount of Life, does nothing other than unleash souls—that is, Life of creatures—from within Its Womb of Light.  Its Power is so Great that, as it moves, it emits souls; and I want My beloved (Luisa) together with Me, in the Womb of My Light—that is, of My Divine Will.  As souls are formed and emitted outside, I do not want to be alone, but I (Jesus) want your company (Luisa), that you may recognize the Great Portent of the Creation of souls—Our Excessive Love.  And since I want you in My Divine Will, I (Jesus) want to deposit them in you (Luisa), entrust them (souls) to you (Luisa), not leaving them alone while they journey as pilgrims through the earth, but having someone together with Me who would protect them and defend them for Me.

“O! how sweet is the company of one (Luisa) who takes care of the Lives that come out of Me.  This is so pleasing to Me, that I (Jesus) make one (Luisa) who Lives in My Divine Will the Depository of the Creation of souls, the Channel by which I let them come out to the Light, and the Channel to let them reenter into the Celestial Fatherland.  Everything do I (Jesus) want to give to one (Luisa) who wants to Live in My Fiat.  Their company is necessary to My Love, to My Outpourings, and to My Works, for they want to be recognized.  To act and not to be recognized—they are like works that cannot Boast Triumph, nor Sing Victory and Glory.  Therefore, do not deny Me your company; you would deny your Jesus an Outpouring of Love, and My Works would lack the Cortege and the appreciation of the creature, and would remain like isolated Works; and My Love, constrained, would turn into Justice.”

For Each Suffering, the Soul Acquires One More Kingdom Within Herself

BOOK OF HEAVEN

 Holy Trinity

10/31/06 – Vol. 7

How for each suffering, the soul acquires one more Kingdom within herself.

Continuing in my usual state, blessed Jesus came in passing, and told me only this: “My daughter (Luisa), each suffering that the soul suffers is one more Dominion that she acquires over herself. In fact, Patience in suffering is Regime, and by ruling herself, the more she suffers, the more Dominion she acquires. She does nothing but expand and enlarge her Kingdom of Heaven, acquiring immense Riches for Eternal Life. So, for each additional pain you suffer, consider that you acquire one more Kingdom in your soul – a Kingdom of Grace, which corresponds to a Kingdom of Virtue and of Glory.”

Prodigies of the Creature Operating in the Divine Will

BOOK OF HEAVEN

10/30/22 – Vol. 14

The Prodigies of the creature Operating in the Divine Will.

Continuing in my usual state, my always adorable Jesus came, and plunging me into the Immense Light of His Most Holy Will, told me: “My daughter (Luisa), look at the Prodigies of the creature Operating in My Divine Will. As she Enters into My Divine Will and thinks, prays, works…, she rises with Me. And since I AM Voice without word, My Voice is Formed and Reaches each heart according to its own needs, and in many different ways and languages which are in the creatures, in such a way that all can understand Me. I AM Work without hands, and therefore I AM work of each one; I AM Step without feet, in such a way that wherever I (Jesus) go I find Myself in Act. In the same way, the soul (Luisa), by Operating in My Divine Will, becomes Voice without word, Work without hands, Step without feet, and I (Jesus) feel her Flowing in My Voice, in My Works and in My Steps – I feel her (Luisa) everywhere. And as I feel her always together with Me, I (Jesus) no longer feel lonely; and since I Love the company of the creature (Luisa) very much, taken by Love for her, I Divinize her (Luisa), I Enrich her (Luisa), and I Give her (Luisa) such Graces as to astonish Heaven and earth.”

Stages of Sin from St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Stages of Sin from St. Bernard of Clairvaux

By:

Saint_Bernard_of_ClairvauxThere are just times when a saint speaks and one is stunned by the insight, the piercing analysis, like a surgeon’s scalpel dividing diseased from healthy tissue. Such is the case with a quote I read recently from St. Bernard that Ralph Martin references in his Book “The Fulfillment of all desires.”

In this quote Bernard analyzes the descent into the increasing darkness of sin experienced by those who do not turn back, who refuse to hear the call to repent. And not individuals only, but, I would argue, cultures too.

St. Bernard’s quote is long enough that I can only make brief comments. But consider it first in toto, and then in stages. Here is the full quote:

If this cold once penetrates the soul when (as so often happens) the soul is neglectful and the spirit asleep and if no one (God forbid) is there to curb it, then it reaches into the soul’s interior, descends to the depths of the heart and the recesses of the mind, paralyzes the affections, obstructs the paths of counsel, unsteadies the light of judgment, fetters the liberty of the spirit, and soon – as appears to bodies sick with fever – a rigor of the mind takes over: vigor slackens, energies grow languid, repugnance for austerity increases, fear of poverty disquiets, the soul shrivels, grace is withdrawn, time means boredom, reason is lulled to sleep, the spirit is quenched, the fresh fervor wanes away, a fastidious lukewarmness weighs down, brotherly love grows cold, pleasure attracts, security is a trap, old habits return. Can I say more? The law is cheated, justice is rejected, what is right is outlawed, the fear of the Lord is abandoned. Shamelessness finally gets free rein. There comes that rash leap, so dishonorable, so disgraceful, so full of ignominy and confusion; a leap from the heights into the abyss, from the court-yard to the dung-heap, from the throne to the sewer, from heaven to the mud, from the cloister to the world, from paradise to hell. (sermon 63.6b on the Song of Songs, The Fox in the Vineyard).

And now consider the stages, with brief comments by me to  them along the way. Fasten your Seat belts, turbulence ahead.

1. If this cold once penetrates the soul when (as so often happens) the soul is neglectful and the spirit asleep – For it too easily happens that we are morally or spiritually asleep. And this provides doorways for the evil one, for the world, the flesh, and the devil. Jesus warns, Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matt 26:41). And yet we love to sleep. We also love to anesthetize ourselves with alcohol, drugs, and other diversions. Jesus says in one of the parables that he sowed good seed in his field, But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away (Matt 13:25). We love to sleep. Bad stuff happens when we are spiritually and morally asleep.

2. and if no one (God forbid) is there to curb it, then it reaches into the soul’s interior, descends to the depths of the heart and the recesses of the mind – If we are smart, we walk in spiritual company with the Church, and with close spiritual friends and spiritual leaders in the Church. Even if, at times we get sleepy, they rouse us and warn us. But too many do not do this and if they pray at all they are lone rangers and many drift from or discount the voice of the Church and family members. Thus, in our weakness there is no one, by our own fault, to warn us, or if some one does, we ignore or ridicule them. Thus the darkness of sin reaches deeper into our interior.

3. paralyzes the affections, – our desires being to go awry first. Our desire for spiritual things is shutting down.

4. obstructs the paths of counsel, The darkness of sin makes good counsel seem difficult at first, obnoxious later. For example, one may begin to wonder, “Why does it matter if I go to Mass or not? What’s the big deal….Why is looking at a little porn so bad….why is the Church so “uptight” about stuff?”

5. unsteadies the light of judgment – Severed from good counsel our judgments become poor and self serving.

6. fetters the liberty of the spirit – The (human) spirit is that part of us that opens us to God, that delights in the truth and in goodness. But as the flesh begins to dominate, the spirit’s influence is diminished and its “liberty” to move within us to draw us to the good, true and beautiful, is hindered.

7. and soon – as appears to bodies sick with fever – a rigor of the mind takes over: – Our thoughts become distorted, stinking thinking begins to masquerade as sensible. As St. Paul says of the Gentiles of his time that, having suppressed the truth, they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools (Rom 1:21-22)

8. vigor slackens – What was once virtuous, i.e. a good habit and easy to do, now seems hard and one lacks strength or vigor to do good.

9. energies grow languid – Without the enthusiasm of an alive spirit infused with grace we begin to lack the energy to do what is good and right. It all seems so much harder, so much effort!

10. repugnance for austerity increases – As the spirit goes more into a coma and the flesh becomes more demanding, any limits to pleasure make us wince and get angry. It is almost like a gluttony wherein  the stomach is stretched and must have a bigger meal each time to satisfy. Never, satisfied, the flesh demands more and more, and any notion of limits causes anger and avoidance.

11. fear of poverty disquiets – The more we get, the more we have to lose and the less secure we feel. The world and the flesh now have in their grip through fear. Poverty is freeing, but wealth enslaves. You can’t steal from a man who has nothing to lose, you can’t intimidate him. But a rich person, a person rooted in the world has too much to lose and is thus disquieted by even the most benign of threats. The laborer’s sleep is sweet, whether he has eaten little or much; but the rich man’s wealth will not let him sleep at all. (Eccles  4:11)

12. the soul shrivels – Just as any part of the body which is underused begins to atrophy (weaken and shrink) so too the soul and its faculties, increasingly unused, recede, grow weak and go dormant.

13. grace is withdrawn – as sin grows serious, now mortal sin robs the soul of graces.

14. time means boredom – without spiritual insight, boredom is sure to follow. Nothing has real meaning. Even the delights of the flesh, now so demanded, fail to satisfy. Scripture says regarding a soul in this state: All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing. That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun (Eccles 1:8-9)

15. reason is lulled to sleep – foolish thinking is not seen for what it is. One cannot follow the path of simple logic or reason because the flesh feel threatened by it. Sins of the flesh are not the most serious of sins (sins of the spirit are) but they are the most disgraceful because of their capacity to cloud the mind.

16. the spirit is quenched – The human spirit becomes increasingly dead.

17. the fresh fervor wanes away – Even good days, spiritually speaking are fewer and fewer.

18. a fastidious lukewarmness weighs down – one actually begins to cultivate mediocrity, compromise and to celebrate it as open-minded, tolerant and avoiding “extremes.”

19. brotherly love grows cold – Was it Camus or Sartre who said, “Hell is other people.” Yes, sin is growing very deep now, the world is closing in on an increasingly petty object: “Me.”

20. pleasure attracts – It always has, but now inordinately and with greater and greater power.

21. security is a trap – In other words it is a lie. This world is a thief. It takes back everything, no matter what the John Hancock Insurance Co. says. But increasingly the sinful soul prefers lies to truth, even knowing deep down that they are lies.

22. old habits return – If one had made progress in virtue, now it erodes.

23. Can I say more? The law is cheated – In other words, legalism and minimalism becomes a tactic. One seeks the “least expensive” interpretation of everything, parses words, and uses every trick to see how the clearly manifest will of God is either not clear, does not apply or how it can be observed in the most perfunctory of ways. One will often collect experts to tickle their ears. Whatever it takes to cheat the law, skirt the edges and reinterpret clear norms.

24. justice is rejected – After cheating the law the next step down is just to reject it outright. The person does not care what God says. They now begin to exult the imperial autonomous self saying in effect that they will do what they want and they will decide if it is right or wrong.

25. what is right is outlawed, – next comes trying to outlaw others from proclaiming the truth. Call what they say “hate speech” fine them, arrest them make them answer in court. Banish the truth from schools and the public square. Demonize and criminalize all possible ways of proclaiming the truth.

26. the fear of the Lord is abandoned – The delusion that one will never face consequences of judgement for what they do is embraced. They will answer to God, but they deny it and are permitted a very deep delusion that they will never have to answer for what they do.

27. Shamelessness finally gets free rein Things that ought to cause shame, and used to do so are now celebrated. Scripture laments them saying, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them (Rom 1:32). The celebration of sin, even the exultation of it as virtue shows that the darkness is now complete, the fall reaches as cracking and crushing thud. St Bernard describes it this way:

There [has come] that rash leap, so dishonorable, so disgraceful, so full of ignominy and confusion; a leap from the heights into the abyss, from the court-yard to the dung-heap, from the throne to the sewer, from heaven to the mud, from the cloister to the world, from paradise to hell.

Pay attention to what the Saints say. There are some who will no doubt dismiss this post as negative etc. I am more concerned if it is true, rather than negative (or positive). My own experience as Pastor, teacher, disciple, sinner and denizen of the world, is that St. Bernard is right on target and has given us a kind of diagnostic manual of the progression of the disease know as sin. Read this, ponder it, consider your own life, and consider too the lives of people you love.

Disease unattended has a way of moving deeper in stages to become grave if we do not soberly assess its presence and power and use the medicines of the Prayer, Scripture, Sacraments, and Fellowship with the Church (cf Acts 2:42).

Are you praying with me?? Listen to St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Everything Which is Light Comes from God

FROM THE BOOK OF HEAVEN

jesus-christ-crucifixion-470

10/28/06 – Vol. 7

Everything which is Light comes from God.

Having received Communion, I found myself within a Great Light – it was Jesus Himself, and He said to me: “My daughter (Luisa), everything which is Light is all Mine – not of the creature. It happens as to a person who is invested by the rays of the sun: if he wanted to attribute the light which he enjoys to himself, he would be foolish and brainless. However, there is this: that that person, instead of enjoying the light of the sun, could say, ‘I want to walk in the shade’, and withdraw from the light; while the soul, in withdrawing from My Light, becomes darkness, and darkness can produce nothing but evil.”

10/28/15 – Vol. 11

The Life on earth of Jesus has been a Continuous Sowing, so that it may be Harvested by creatures and produce Fruit in them.

This morning, my always adorable Jesus came and told me: “My daughter (Luisa), My Life on earth was nothing other than Sown Seeds, which My children will Harvest, provided that they will remain on the same Land in which I Sowed these Seeds. Depending on their Act of Harvesting, My Seeds will Produce their Fruit. Now, these Seeds are My Works, My Words, My Thoughts, even My Breaths, etc. So, if the soul Picks them all, making them her own, she will be Enriched in such a Way as to Purchase the Kingdom of Heaven. But if she doesn’t, these Seeds will serve as her condemnation.”

Divine Will Must be Like the Soul to the Body

FROM THE BOOK OF HEAVEN

10/27/21 – Vol. 13

The Divine Will must be like the soul to the body.

You must know that My Divine Will must be like the soul to the body. See, this happens also within Us, the Three Divine Persons. Our Love is Great, Infinite and Eternal, but if We did not have a Will that Animates and Gives Life to this Love, Our Love would be without Life, without Works. Our Wisdom seems incredible, Our Power can crush everything in one minute, and in another minute It can redo everything. But if We did not have a Will that wanted to Manifest the Mastery of Our Wisdom, as It Manifested it in the Creation, in which It Ordered and Harmonized everything, and with Its Power It made it Fixed in such way that it cannot move one bit – both Wisdom and Power would have had nothing to do; and so with all the rest of Our Attributes.

Now, in the same way I want My Divine Will to be like the soul to the body. The body without the soul is lifeless; even though it contains all the senses, it cannot see, nor speak, hear, work – it is almost a useless thing, and maybe even unbearable. But if the body is animated, how many things can it not do? Yet, oh! how many render themselves useless and unbearable because they are not Animated by My Divine Will! They are like those electric systems without light; like those machines without motion, covered with rust and dust, and almost impotent to motion. Ah, how pitiful they are! Each thing which is not Animated by My Divine Will is a Life of Sanctity that is missing. This is why I (Jesus) want to be in you (Luisa) like the soul to the body; and My Divine Will will make New Surprises of Creations – It will Give New Life to My Love, It will do New Works, It will Manifest the Mastery of My Wisdom, It will Give New Motion to My Power. Therefore, be attentive and let Me do, so that I (Jesus) may Accomplish My Great Design – that the creature (Luisa) be Animated by My Divine Will.”
