Volume 17- May 17,1925 (Continuation of the previous Chapter)

Other Ways to Fuse oneself in the Divine Will; First, in Return for Creation, and then for Redemption.

After I had the Confessor hear what is written above – with the date of May 10th – on Fusing myself in the Divine Volition, he was not satisfied,

and ordered me to continue to write about the way to Fuse myself in the Holy Divine Volition. So, out of obedience,

and for fear that my Jesus might be even slightly disappointed, I continue.

Now, I add that as that Immense Void comes before my mind,

in Fusing myself in the Supreme Volition,

the little child begins her Round again,

and Rising Up High,

she wants to Repay her God for all the LOVE He had for all creatures in Creation.

She wants to Honor Him as Creator of all things,

and so she goes by way of the Round of the stars,

and in each flickering of light I impress my


In every atom of the light of the sun that comes down, my


In the whole expanse of the Heavens, between the distance from one step to another, my


In the warbling of the bird, in the beating of its wings:

“LOVE” and “GLORY” to my Creator.

In the blade of grass which sprouts from the earth, in the flower that blooms, in the fragrance that ascends:

“LOVE” and “GLORY”.

On the peak of the mountains and in the depths of the valleys:

“LOVE” and “GLORY”.

I wander through every heart of creature as though wanting to enclose myself and shout from within, to every heart, my


And then, as if I had gathered everything together in such a way that everything

Gives Return of LOVE and Recognition of GLORY for all that God has done in Creation,

I go to His Throne, and I say to Him:

‘Supreme Majesty and Creator of all things, this little child comes into your arms to tell You that all of Creation, in the name of all creatures,

gives You not only Return of LOVE, but also the just Glory for the so many things You created for love of us.

In your Divine Will, in this Immense Empty space, I wandered everywhere, so that all things may Glorify You, love You and Bless You.

And now that I have put in Relation the LOVE between Creator and creature, which the human will had broken

– as well as the GLORY that everyone owed You, let your Will descend upon earth, that It may bind

and strengthen all the relations between Creator and creature,

and so that all things may return to the original order established by You.

Therefore, Hurry, do not delay any longer – don’t You see how the earth is full of evils?

Your Will alone can stop this current and save it – your Will, known and ruling.’

After this, I feel that my office is still not complete.

So I descend to the bottom of that empty space, in order to repay Jesus for the Work of Redemption.

And as though finding all that He did in act, I want to give Him my return for all the acts that all creatures should have done in waiting for Him

and receiving Him upon earth.

Then, as though wanting to transform all of myself into love for Jesus, I go back to my refrain, and I say:

‘”I LOVE YOU” in the act of descending from Heaven to be incarnated, and I impress my

“I LOVE YOU” in the act of being conceived in the most pure womb of the Virgin Mary.

“I LOVE YOU” in the first drop of blood which was formed in your Humanity.

“I LOVE YOU” in the first beat of your Heart, to mark all your heartbeats with my


“I LOVE YOU” in your first breath;

“I LOVE YOU” in your first pains;

“I LOVE YOU” in the first tears You shed in the maternal womb.

I want to return your prayers, your reparations, your offerings, with my


“I LOVE YOU” in your birth.

“I LOVE YOU” in the cold you suffered.

“I LOVE YOU” in each drop of the milk you suckled from your Most Holy Mama. I want to fill with my

“I LOVE YOUs” the clothes with which your Mama swaddled You. I lay my

“I LOVE YOU” upon that ground on which your Mama placed You in the manger, as your most tender limbs felt the hardness of the hay

– but more than of hay, the hardness of hearts. My

“I LOVE YOU” in each of your wailings, in all the tears and sufferings of your childhood. I make my

“I LOVE YOU” flow in all the relations and communications and love You had with your Immaculate Mama.

“I LOVE YOU” in Her dearest kisses, in each word You said, in the food You took, in the steps You took, in the water You drank.

“I LOVE YOU” in the work You did with your hands.

“I LOVE YOU” in all the acts You did during your hidden Life. I seal my

“I LOVE YOU” in each one of your interior acts and in the pains You suffered. I lay my

“I LOVE YOU” upon the paths You covered, in the air You breathed, in all the sermons You made during your public Life. My

“I LOVE YOU” flows in the power of the miracles You made, in the Sacraments You instituted.

In everything, O my Jesus, even in the most intimate fibers of your Heart, I impress my

“I LOVE YOU”, for me and for all. Your Will makes everything present to me, and nothing do I want to leave, in which my

“I LOVE YOU” is not impressed.

Your little Daughter of your Will feels this Duty – as there’s nothing else she can do – that You may have at least my little

“I LOVE YOU” for everything You did for me and for all. Therefore my

“I LOVE YOU” follows You in all the pains of your Passion, in all the spit, scorn and insults they gave You. My

“I LOVE YOU” seals every drop of the Blood You shed, every blow You received, every wound that formed in your body,

each thorn that transfixed your head, the bitter pains of the Crucifixion, the words You pronounced on the Cross.

Up to your last breath, I intend to impress my

“I LOVE YOU”. I want to enclose all your Life, all your acts, with my

“I LOVE YOU”. I want You to touch, see and feel my continuous


“I LOVE YOU” will never leave You – your very Will is the life of my


But do You know what this little child wants?

That the Divine Will of your Father, which You loved so much, and which You did during all your Life upon earth, make Itself known to all creatures,

so that all may LOVE It and Fulfill your Divine Will, on earth as It is in Heaven.

This little child would want to surpass You in LOVE, so that You may give your Divine Will to all creatures.

Please, make this poor little one Happy, who wants nothing but what You want: that your Divine Will be Known and Reign upon all the earth.’

Now I believe that obedience will be Happy in some way.

Though it is true that in many things I had to make a few jumps, otherwise I would never end.

Fusing myself in the Divine Volition is like a Springing Fount for me; and every tiny thing I hear and see, even one offense given to my Jesus,

is occasion for me for New Ways and New Fusions in His Most Holy Divine Will.

         Now, I continue by saying that my sweet Jesus told me:
         “My daughter (Luisa), to all you have said on Fusing yourself in My Divine Will,
         another application Must be added
         that of Fusing yourself in the Order of Grace,
         in all that the Sanctifier – the Holy Spirit – has done and will do to those who are to be Sanctified.
        Furthermore, while We – the Three Divine Persons – remain always United in Working, if Creation is related to the Father, and Redemption to the Son
        – the “Fiat Voluntas Tua” was attributed to the Holy Spirit.
        And it is exactly in the “Fiat Voluntas Tua” that the Divine Spirit will display His Work.
        You do it when, in coming before the Supreme Majesty, you say:
        ‘I come to Give LOVE in Return for everything which the Sanctifier does to those who are to be Sanctified.
        I come to enter into the order of Grace, to give You GLORY and return of LOVE, as if all had become Saints,
        and to Repair You for all the oppositions and lack of correspondence to Grace…”;
        and as much as you can, in Our Divine Will you search for the Acts of Grace of the Spirit Sanctifier, in order to make your own
        – His sorrow, His secret moans, His anguishing sighs in the depth of the hearts, on seeing Himself unwelcome.
        And since the first act He does is to bring Our Divine Will as the complete Act of their Sanctification, on seeing Himself rejected,
        He moans with inexpressible moans.
        And in your childlike simplicity, you say to Him:
        ‘Spirit Sanctifier, hurry, I implore You, I beg You, let everyone Know your Divine Will, so that, in Knowing It,
        they may LOVE It and welcome your Prime Act of their Complete Sanctification – which is your Holy Divine Will!’
        My daughter (Luisa), We – the Three Divine Persons – are Inseparable and Distinct,
        and in this Way do We want to Manifest to the human generations Our Works for them:
        while remaining United within Ourselves, each One of Us wants to Manifest individually His Love and His Work for the creatures.”

10/10/25 – Vol. 18

Exchange of wills between the Celestial Father and the Most Holy Virgin, and Luisa.  The Most Holy Virgin repeats for the soul who lives in the Divine Will that which She did for Her Son.

As I was in my usual state, my poor mind found itself within an extremely High Atmosphere.  I seemed to see the Divinity, and upon one Knee of the Celestial Father, the Queen Mama, dead, as if She had no life.  Surprised, I thought to myself:  ‘My Mama is dead; but what a Happy Death – to die on the Knees of our Creator!’  But, looking more closely, I saw Her will as though detached from Her body, held in the Hands of the Divine Father.  Amazed, I looked, and I could not give myself a reason for what I was seeing; but a Voice coming from the Divine Throne said:  “This is the Elect among all the elect; She (Queen Mama) is the All Beautiful; She is the only creature who gave Us Her will as Gift, and left it, dead, upon Our Knees, in Our Hands.  And We (Triune God), in exchange, gave Her the Gift of Our Will.  Greater Gift We could not give Her, because by acquiring this Supreme Will, She (Queen Mama) had the Power to make the Word descend upon earth, and to have the Redemption of mankind be formed.  A human will would have no Power nor Attraction over Us; but a Divine Will, given by Ourselves to this incomparable Creature, won over Us, conquered Us, enraptured Us; and unable to resist, We (Triune God) surrendered to Her Petitions to make the Word descend upon earth.  Now We (Triune God) are waiting for you (Luisa) to come to die upon Our other Knee, giving Us your will; and We (Triune God), in seeing it dead in Our Hands, as if it no longer existed for you, will give you (Luisa) the Gift of Our Will, and through you (Luisa) – that is, through this Will of Ours given to you (Luisa) – Our Fiat will return to Live upon earth.  These two wills, dead upon Our Knees, will be the Ransom for many rebellious wills, and We (Triune God) will keep them as a precious Pledge, which will repay Us for all the evils of the other creatures, because with Our Will they will be able to satisfy Us.”

The Voice could no longer be heard, and I found myself on the other Paternal Knee, in the act of breathing my last, and dying.  But at that moment I found myself inside myself, but I am unable to say what I felt within me; only, I prayed from the heart that my will might never again enter into me, but only the Divine Will might have Life in me.  Ah! It (Divine Will) alone is the Bearer of all Goods and the Repeater of Jesus within souls; and echoing the Fiat of Creation, It (Divine Will) embraces everything and everyone as though in one Breath, and requites God for the Work of Creation, Redemption and Sanctification.  The Divine Will operating in us can do anything; It is the True Queen who Reigns and Rules over everything.

Then, afterwards, I saw my Celestial Mama with Baby Jesus in Her arms, as She kissed Him and placed Him to Her Breast to give Him Her most Pure Milk; and I said to Her:  ‘My Mama, and what about me – don’t You give anything to me?  O please! allow me at least to place my ‘I love You’ between Your Mouth and that of Jesus while You Kiss, so that my little ‘I love You’ may run within everything You do.  And She said to me:  “My daughter (Luisa), please do, place your little ‘I love You,’ not only in the Mouth, but in all the Acts that pass between Me and My Son.  You must know that everything I (Queen Mama) did toward My Son, I intended to do toward those souls who were to Live in the Divine Will, because, being in It (Divine Will), they would be disposed to receive all the Acts I did toward Jesus, and I would find sufficient space in which to place them.  So, if I (Queen Mama) Kissed My Son, I Kissed them, because I found them together with Him in His Supreme Will.  They were the First to be as though lined up within Him, and My Maternal Love pushed Me to let them partake in everything I (Queen Mama) did to My Son.  Great Graces were needed for those who were to Live in this Holy Will, and I (Queen Mama) placed all My Goods, My Graces, My Sorrows, at their disposal, as their Help, as Defense, as Strength, as Support and as Light; and I felt Happy and Honored with the greatest Honors, to have, as My children, the Children of the Will of the Celestial Father, which I (Queen Mama) too Possessed; and therefore I looked at them also as Births from Me.  Even more, it can be said of them what is said about My Son:  that the First Generations found Salvation in the Merits of the Future Redeemer.  In the same way, these souls, these Future Daughters, by Virtue of the Divine Will Operating in them, are the ones who incessantly implore Salvation and Graces for the Future Generations.  They are with Jesus, and Jesus is in them; and they Repeat together with Jesus that which Jesus contains.  Therefore, if you want Me to Repeat for you (Luisa and the souls Linked to Luisa) what I (Queen Mama) did for My Son, let Me always find you in His Will, and I (Queen Mama) will be Generous with My Favors toward you (Luisa and the souls Linked to Luisa).”

Will Push Hard for Consecration of Russia!

      On Oct. 13, Pope Francis intends to conclude two days of public Marian devotions by consecrating the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He plans to do this at the Vatican, in the presence of the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary, which will be brought to Rome from the Little Chapel of the Apparitions in Fatima for the occasion.
      Our Lady of Fatima asked that the Pope and the bishops — together — consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. Not the world, but Russia! Unless Our Lady’s request is granted and the consecration performed as She specified, the blessings She promised — the conversion of Russia and world peace — will not be realized.
      Blessed John Paul II consecrated the world more than once to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. No doubt, graces were won by these pious acts. But they did not fulfill Our Lady’s conditions. Sister Lucy said they all did not. In fact, the last of the Fatima seers stressed again and again throughout her life that Our Lady’s request was very specific and that it had yet to be fulfilled. The consecration of Russia is still awaited.
      Our Lady’s Apostolate is increasing its presence in Rome to try to reach and persuade Pope Francis, through every means at our disposal, that he has a Heaven-sent opportunity to deliver himself, the Church and world from our present turmoil and sufferings. We have friends in Rome and around the world who support us in this endeavor.
      Given the gravity of the crises in the Church and the world, and the fact that we have a guaranteed solution to these crises, we ask that you pray fervently for the success of our mission. Pray especially for the Holy Father, that his eyes may be opened by Our Lady of Fatima, to whom he has dedicated his pontificate.

God Created man in an Ecstasy of Love.  Creation, Garment of man.  The sweet sound of the little bell.  Ecstasies in turn of the Creator and of the creature.  Prodigy of the Conception of the Virgin.

            My abandonment in the Fiat continues, and however more abandoned in It I am, so much more I feel Its Strength that fortifies me, Its Life that animates me, Its Light that comforts me, Illuminates me and, making Itself Revealer, Reveals to me He in whose Arms I am all abandoned, and with Powerful Attraction makes me go around in His Works.  He Loves and wants that His little daughter be spectator of what He has done for Love of creatures.

So while I was going around, my Divine and Sovereign Jesus, stopping me in the Act of the Creation of Man, told me:  “My daughter (Luisa), what sweet Memory is the Creation of Man.  He was Created in an Ecstasy of Our Love.  So much was Our Love, that We remained Enraptured before Our own Work that We put forth to the Light.  The Beauty with which We had invested him Enraptured Us.  The Sanctity with which We had filled him Enraptured Us.  The Form, the Harmony with which We had formed him, Enraptured Us.   His Prerogatives, each Quality of his, was an Ecstasy of Love that We felt, and it Enraptured Us to Love him.

            “So Our Love remained shaken, overcome, and putting Us in Ecstasy, made arise in Us the Operating and Immortal Love toward man.  And in this Ecstasy of Love, Enraptured as We were, nothing bothered Us, We placed no limits, We displayed so much in Loving him and in Enriching him with all Goods, that no void remained, so his Love would be Full for Us, and so be able to Enrapture Us to Love him continuously.  Therefore, just remembering how man was Created repeats Our Loving Ecstasies to him.

            “Now, one who goes around in Our Will, as she (Luisa) finds Our Works that were prepared in order to then Create man, she (Luisa) sounds the little bell to call all creatures to recognize this Love of God toward man.  And its sweet sound calls Our Attention, Our Love reawakens, and makes arise again in Us Our Ecstasies of Love toward her.  Ecstasies mean total Re-Pouring toward whom one Loves, and one who comes into Our Will has the strength to make Us undergo Our Ecstasy of Love so that We pour Ourselves out again in her.  And with Our Power, We put the creature into Ecstasies for Us, so that nothing remains for her, and everything Re-pours into Our Supreme Being.

            “A mutual Re-pouring occurs, the one into the other, because there is nothing that pleases Us more, then seeing the creature in that same Will in which she was Created.  To contemplate Our Works, know them, and feel the Pulsations of Our Love that each created thing possesses, was the Garment that We prepared and gave to man in Creating so many things and the whole of Creation.  Now, who receives the Life of the Good that created things contain?  One (Luisa and the souls linked to Luisa) who makes use of this Garment so splendid, and with Right knows them.  Knowing them she finds Our Palpitating Love, Our Operating Will, and she loves them and loves in them that Supreme Being who Loves her so much.  Therefore be attentive and constant in going around in Our Works, so that We give each other a hand in Loving each other, take turns placing ourselves in Ecstasy, and with utility you (Luisa) will make use of the great Garment that with so much Love your Creator has given you (Luisa).”

            After this my little mind wandered in the Acts done by the Divine Will, and passing from one to another, I arrived at the Conception of the Most Holy Virgin.  O God! the Heavens remained mute before this Completed Act of the Divine Will.  The Angels seemed stammering, and for however much they say, it seems that they do not know how to say everything about this Prodigy so Great.  Ah! only God can speak of It, because He is the Author of the Prodigy of what was worked in this Conception.

            And while I remained amazed, my Lovable Jesus, surprising me, told me:  “My daughter (Luisa), the Conception of the Immaculate Virgin was a New Act of Our Will; New in the Way, New in time, and New in Grace.  The whole of Creation was Renewed in Her.  In Our All-Seeingness and Immensity We called all creatures, all their good acts present, past, and future, as if they were one alone, so that this Conception would be formed over everything and everyone to give the Right to everyone, and give them the Right not with words, but with deeds over everything.

            “When Our Will does an Act that must serve for the Universal Good of everyone, It puts no one aside.  And making use of Its Omnipotence It Reunites everything together, creatures and their acts—except for sin, because evil cannot enter into Our Acts—and completes the Act that It wants to do.  See, all your acts also contributed.  You put forth your part, therefore by Right you are Her Daughter, and the Virgin Queen with Right is your Mama.  But do you know why We had this way of bringing this Holy Creature forth to the Light?  In order to Renew the whole of Creation, to Love it again with New Love, and to place everyone and everything in safety, as though under the Wings of this Creature and Celestial Mother.  We never do Our Works isolated, but We always start from Our One and Only Act, that while it is One, it Unites everything and does everything as if they were one alone.  This is Our Omnipotence, Our Creative Strength, in One Single Act to do everything, to find everything, and to do Good to everyone.”

When the soul operates united with Jesus, her acts have the same effects as His operating. Value of the intention.

This morning, I struggled very much in waiting for my adorable Jesus; however, while waiting for Him, I did as much as I could to unite everything I was doing in my interior with the Interior of our Lord, intending to give Him all the Glory and Reparation which His Most Holy Humanity gave Him. Now, while I was doing this, blessed Jesus came and told me: “My daughter (Luisa), when a soul makes use of My Humanity as the means to operate, be it even a thought, a breath, or just any act, they are like as many gems that come out of My Humanity and present themselves before the Divinity. And since they come out through My Humanity, they have the same effects as My Operating when I was on earth.” And I: ‘Ah, Lord, I feel as though a doubt: how can it be that with the simple intention in operating – be it even in the smallest things which, considered in themselves, are trivial, empty – it seems that the mere intention of Union with You and of pleasing You alone fills them, and You elevate them in that Supreme Way, making them appear as a most great thing?’

“Ah, My daughter (Luisa), the operating of the creature is empty, be it even a great work; rather, it is the Union with Me and the simple aim at pleasing Me that fills it. And since My Operating, be it even a breath, accesses all the works of creatures together in an Infinite Way, this is why it renders it so great. Besides, don’t you know that one who makes use of My Humanity as the means to do his actions comes to nourish himself of the Fruits of My own Humanity, and to Feed himself from My own Food? Furthermore, is it perhaps not the good intention that makes a man holy, and the evil intention that makes him perverted? One does not always do different things, but with the same actions one is Sanctified and another becomes perverted.”

Now, while He was saying this, I saw a flourishing tree inside Our Lord, filled with beautiful Fruits, and I saw that those souls who operated to please God alone and through His Humanity were inside of Him, upon that tree, and His Humanity served as dwelling of these souls. But how so very scarce was their number.

The Divine Will, depositary of all the acts of all the Saints.  How God and the creature hold hands.  Which ones are the acts lost from the purpose of Our Creator.

My poor mind goes around the Sun of the Supreme Fiat, and I find It surrounded by all the works, sacrifices, pains, heroism, that all the Saints, ancient and new, have done; those of the Queen of Heaven, as well as what blessed Jesus has done for Love of us.  The Divine Will preserves everything; It having been the Prime Actor of all the Good acts of creatures, It keeps them jealously, It holds them in deposit within Itself, and It uses them to Glorify Itself and to Glorify those who did them.  And I, seeing that everything belonged to the Will of God—since It is also mine, everything was mine; and going around in each act, I offered them as mine to Glorify more the Eternal Volition, and to impetrate the coming of Its Kingdom upon earth.

But while I was doing this, my always lovable Jesus, surprising me, told me:  “My daughter (Luisa), listen to the admirable Secrets of My Divine Will:  if the creature wants to find everything that, Beautiful, Good and Holy, has been done in the whole history of the world by Me, by the Celestial Mama, and by all the Saints, she must enter into the Divine Will—in It everything is found in Act.  As you (Luisa) were paying attention to each act, remembering it, offering it, the Saint who had done that act, that sacrifice, felt called by the pilgrim soul, and saw his act palpitating again on earth, and therefore, doubled, the Glory to his Creator and to himself; and you, who were offering it, covered by the Celestial Dew of the Good of that Holy Act.  And according to the Purpose, Noble and High, with which it is offered, more intense and great is the Glory and the Good it produces.

“How many Riches does My Divine Will possess!  There are all My Acts, those of the Sovereign Queen, that are all in waiting to be called, remembered, offered by the creature in order to duplicate the Good for the benefit of creatures, and to give Us double Glory.  They want to be remembered, called, in order to palpitate as New Life in the midst of creatures; but because of lack of attention, there are some that die, some that struggle because of weakness, some that grow numb with cold, some that have nothing with which to satisfy their hunger.  Our Goods, Acts and Sacrifices do not set out if They are not called, because by remembering Them and offering Them, creatures dispose themselves to recognizing Them and to receiving the Good that Our Acts contain.  Moreover, there is no greater Honor that you (Lusia) can give to all of Heaven than offering their acts that they did on earth, for the Noble, most High and Sublime Purpose that the Kingdom of the Divine Will come upon earth.”

Then, I continued to think about the Divine Volition, and my beloved Jesus added:  “My daughter (Luisa), an act, a prayer, a thought, an affection, a word, in order to be welcome, perfect, ordered, complete, must elevate itself to the same Purpose wanted by God Himself.  In fact, as the creature, in her act, elevates herself to the Purpose wanted by the Supreme Being, she embraces the beginning and takes into her act the Purpose with which God created her.  God and the creature hold hands, and want and do the same thing.  By doing so, the Divine Order, the Divine Act, and the same Purpose with which God wants that act to be done, enter the act of the creature.  So, as the Divine Purpose enters, the act of its own renders itself Complete, Holy, Perfect and Fully Ordered.  Whoever the author of the purpose of that act is, so does the act become.

“On the other hand, if the creature does not elevate herself to the Purpose wanted by God in her act, she goes down from the beginning of her creation and will not feel the Life of the Divine Act within hers.  Perhaps she will do many acts, but incomplete, imperfect, disordered; they will be like acts that are lost from the Purpose of her Creator.  Therefore, the thing that pleases Us the most is to see Our same Purpose in the act of the creature; it can be said that she continues Our Life upon earth, and Our Will operating in her acts, words, and in everything.”

The feast dedicated to “Our Lady of the Rosary” was instituted by Pope Pius V. It was to commemorate the anniversary of the defeat of the Turkish fleet at the battle of Lepanto on the first Sunday in October 1571. This miraculous defeat broke the back of Muslim domination of the Mediterranean and was attributed to the prayers and processions of the Rosary confraternity in Rome. The Feast was later moved to the fixed date of October 7. In fact, the entire month of October is dedicated to encouraging the praying of the Rosary and reflecting on the mysteries of the Christian faith which it memorializes.

In a few days, we will recall a miraculous event. On October 13, 1917, seventy-thousand pilgrims had found their way to Fatima as a result of the visions three children had begun receiving in the spring of 1916. The anxious crowd, bearing mixed attitudes, uncomfortably stood in ankle-deep mud; many awaited an unheard yet fathomed hope, a silent promise which had touched their craving hearts; others had arrived convinced that their lack of faith would soon be justified on finding the wet, soggy morning uneventful. This latter group would soon adopt a very different outlook on life.

I have come to warn the faithful to amend their lives and to ask pardon for their sins. They must not offend our Lord any more, for he is already too grievously offended by the sins of men. People must say the Rosary. Let them continue saying it every day.”

Nearly nineteen centuries earlier, our Lord Jesus Christ sat at a wedding feast in Cana. The wine had run out, and, showing her constant concern for all, Our Lady simply turned to her Son and said, “They have no wine.” Although Jesus responded, “My hour is not yet come,” the Mother of our Lord, of course, knew her Son would listen to her, and, in a display of complete confidence, simply advised the servants to “Do whatever he tells you” (see Jn 2:1-5). Those were the final words of Our Lady recorded in the New Testament, which, unarguably, are an everlasting profession of what it means to be Christian.

Yet even before that day on which our Lord worked his fist miracle, the birth of the Rosary had, in a sense, already occurred in the Angelic Salutation, when Gabriel the Archangel said to Mary: “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you” (Lk 1:28). St. Gabriel, sensing that Mary was troubled by his message, tells her she has “found favor with God” (1:30). And, upon hearing of the wondrous, unfathomable event of which she was about to partake, the sweet Virgin responded with beautiful simplicity and obedience: “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord, may it be done to me according to your word” (1:38).

The Handmaid of the Lord, the Virgin Mother of all the faithful, whose entire life is united in perfection and holiness to the Incarnate Word’s mission of Salvation, returns again and again to us, exercising her office as motherly intercessor, caring for her children, directing them always and everywhere to her Son. She says of herself: “I am the Lady of the Rosary.”

The word Rosary means “crown of roses.” St. Louis De Montfort calls the Rosary “the mystical rose tree of Jesus and Mary in life, death, and eternity.” He tells us that reciting the Rosary produces spiritual roses which will “never wilt or die, and they will be just as exquisite thousands of years from now as they are today.” In regards the worth of saying the Rosary, he professes it to be a “priceless treasure which is inspired by God” (The Secret Of The Rosary, Montfort Publications, 1954).

Pope John Paul II tells us: “The Rosary, though clearly Marian in character, is at the heart a Christocentric prayer. In the sobriety of its elements, it has all the depth of the Gospel message in its entirety, of which it can be said to be a compendium. . . . Through the Rosary the faithful receive abundant grace, as though from the very hands of the Mother of the Redeemer” (Apostolic Letter On The Most Holy Rosary, Rosarium Virginis Mariae, introduction).

Our Lady of the Rosary is the image and beginning of the Church: “In the meantime the Mother of Jesus, in the glory which she possesses in body and soul in heaven, is the image and beginning of the Church as it is to be perfected in the world to come. Likewise she shines forth on earth, until the queen-rosaryday of the Lord shall come, a sign of certain hope and comfort to the pilgrim People of God” (LG 68; cf. 2 Pet 3:10).

Soon we will return again to that day at Fatima less than a century ago, on which Our Lady of the Rosary opened her hands: the rain ceased, clouds parted, light issued forth from her delicate palms and traveled toward the sun as if penetrating the daystar itself, transforming it into a pale disc that could be viewed without harming the eyes. Although the gathered crowd could not see Our Lady, on hearing Lucy shout, “Look at the Sun!” thousands of eyes turned their gaze toward what was a very different sun from anything they had previously known.

United in a bond of love and beauty, Our Lady of the Rosary and the Blessed Trinity reached down upon sinful humanity, leaving those present as well as future generations yet another sign of heaven’s constant plea of repentance. On that very day the dancing sun would forever be burned into the intellects of the seventy-thousand onlookers. Those who doubted, doubted no longer; those who believed shook with joy; the children’s eyes filled with tears of wonder and love as they, along with all who were present, witnessed the Miracle of the Sun.

Yet in light of all Our Lady has done, in view of all the miracles attributed to her intercession, those of Fatima, Lourdes and Guadalupe and countless others, there are still those numerous, clashing voices of dissent: there are those who are misguidedly ashamed in seeking the help of the Virgin; those who commit grave error in thinking little of the Mother of our Lord, ignoring the teaching of the Catholic Church and the many references to her in Scripture, as if she is but some unimportant figure in the reality of Salvation whose position as Mother of the faithful ought to be ignored; there are those who neglect the Rosary; there are those who purposefully ignore the Rosary; there are even those who despise the Rosary.

St. Louis De Montfort has something to say of such an unfortunate situation: “Even though God has set his seal of approval on the holy Rosary by many miracles, and in spite of the Papal Bulls that have been written approving it, there are only too many people who are against the holy Rosary today. These “freethinkers” and those who scorn religion either condemn the Rosary or they turn others away from it. . . . It is easy to see they have absorbed the poison of hell and that they are inspired by the devil – for nobody can condemn devotion to the holy Rosary without condemning all that is most holy in the Catholic Faith, such as the Lord’s Prayer, the Angelic Salutation and the mysteries of the life, death and glory of Jesus Christ and of his holy Mother” (Ibid.).

There were “freethinkers” then as there are now; freethinking their way into the slavery of sin; making of themselves enemies of the Mother of God; forsaking the truly beautiful.

Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Bouasse LebelPope Leo XIII proposed, on September 1, 1883, in his encyclical “Supremi Apostolatus Officio,” that the Rosary is an effective spiritual weapon against the evils of an ill society. Rightly noting that there have been many “exceedingly great favors obtained” through the ages by the Christian peoples’ devotion to the Rosary, he tells us: “We desire that that same devotion [to the Rosary] should be offered by the whole Catholic world with the greatest earnestness to the Blessed Virgin, that by her intercession her Divine Son may be appeased and softened in the evils which afflict us” (SAO, introduction).

The diamond-hard weapon with which to combat our greatest evils – specifically the barbaric practices of legalized abortion, an “intolerable moral corruption” in which the intentional killing of our youngest children is engaged in a manner of blatant, deplorable openness, as if ending the life of the innocent is an entirely innocuous choice which people are “free” to make – is found in devoutly praying the Rosary. It is necessary that, in order to realize abortion’s defeat, the Catholic faithful, the universal Church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ, return all the more to the Rosary.

Pope Leo XIII continues: “It has always been the habit of Catholics in danger and in troublous times to fly for refuge to Mary, and to seek for peace in her maternal goodness; . . . [the Immaculate Virgin] has a favor and power with her Son greater than any human or angelic creature has ever obtained, or ever can gain. And, as it is her greatest pleasure to grant her help and comfort to those who seek her, it cannot be doubted that she would deign, and even be anxious, to receive the aspirations of the universal Church (Ibid., 2).

“This devotion, so great and so confident, to the august Queen of Heaven, has never shone forth with such brilliancy as when the militant Church of God has seemed to be endangered by the violence of heresy spread abroad, or by an intolerable moral corruption, . . . ” (Ibid., 3).

It is certain that devotion to the Rosary, a powerful weapon which efficaciously destroys vice, evil and sin, is the answer to the “intolerable moral corruption” so prevalent in our secularist society.

Further, to be truly Christian is to worship as Christians ought; in the fullness of truth as whole and complete Christians. Therefore Catholics in communion with the Church necessarily include veneration to the Mother of God in their life as Christians:

Pope Paul VI, in his Apostolic Exhortation, “Marialis Cultus” (1974), reminds us devotion to the Virgin Mary is an integral aspect of Christian worship: “This devotion [to the Blessed Virgin Mary] fits–as we have indicated above–into the only worship that is rightly called “Christian,” because it takes its origin and effectiveness from Christ, finds its complete expression in Christ, and leads through Christ in the Spirit to the Father. . . . And the increased knowledge of Mary’s mission has become joyful veneration of her and adoring respect for the wise plan of God, who has placed within His family (the Church), as in every home, the figure of a Woman, who in a hidden manner and in a spirit of service watches over that family ‘and carefully looks after it until the glorious day of the Lord’” (MC, introduction).

On December 10, 1925, Our Lady with the Christ Child appeared to Lucia, who at this time was a nun at the Dorothean convent in Pontevedra, Spain. She was eighteen years old. The Christ Child first spoke, saying: “Have compassion on the heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them.”

Lucy’s thoughts certainly must have cast back upon that day at Fatima, when soggy ground suddenly turned dry, when wet clothes instantly became once more warm, when the Miracle of the Sun was forever recorded in history, when the Lady “more brilliant than the sun” announced to the entire world:

“I am the Lady of the Rosary. I have come to warn the faithful to amend their lives and to ask pardon for their sins. They must not offend our Lord any more, for he is already too grievously offended by the sins of men. People must say the Rosary. Let them continue saying it every day.”

Dearest brother in Jesus Christ, I was immensely pleased by your request for the book of the Queen of Heaven, thinking that the Celestial Mama comes also to the prison to visit you and to be your Mother, Teacher, consoler; and also to give you her sweet company in order to teach you how to live from the Divine Will, and form, in prison too, the Kingdom of the Divine Volition.]

Therefore, my brother, courage, trust, for you have a Celestial Mama who loves you very much, who will never leave you, and if you listen to Her, will make a sanctuary of the prison. And if human weakness took you to prison, the Sovereign Queen comes with the strength of the Divine Will to take you to Heaven and render your days less sad; even more, She will turn pains, privations, loneliness, into ransoms and eternal conquests; She will make you feel the peace that, even in the world, cannot be enjoyed. The Divine Will will transform you, and you will feel the new life that the Celestial Lady brings you.

Know that I am your sister in prison. For more than fifty years the Supreme Fiat has kept me imprisoned in a bed. Yet, I am glad – I am happy; but what makes me happy? The Divine Will, Which I try to do always. You too can be happy, if you do the Divine Will. Oh, how It will change your bitterness! You will feel a true divine strength that will ease your painful state. Never neglect the Rosary to the Celestial Mother, and if you can, be a missionary in the prison, by making known that the Queen of Heaven wants to visit all the prisoners to give them the gift of the Divine Will. And if you need some more copies and you cannot pay, I am willing to send them for free.

I leave you under the mantle of the Celestial Mother, listening to Her lessons of Heaven – and with a thousand regards, I say, your most affectionate sister, the little daughter of the Divine Will.

Volume 1 – 1900 – After this, blessed Jesus pulled me away from those people, and as He became a baby, I carried Him in my arms to let Him rest.  Asking me for a refreshment, He wanted to suckle from me; fearing that it might be the devil, I signed Him with the cross several times, and then I said to Him:  ‘If You really are Jesus, let us recite the Hail Mary to our Queen Mama together.’  And Jesus recited the first part, and I the Holy Mary.  Then, He Himself wanted to recite the Our Father.  Oh, how touching His praying was!  It was so moving that my heart seemed to liquefy.  Then He added:  “Daughter, unlike others, I had my life from the Heart, and this is one reason why I am all Heart for souls and I am inclined to want the heart, and I tolerate not even a shadow of what is not mine.  So, between you and Me I want everything distinctly for Myself; and that which you will concede to creatures, will be nothing but the overflow of our love.”

Volume 6 – April 26, 1904 – “My beloved, oh! how defrauded I feel of the glory which the creature owes Me, and which I am denied with so much cheek, and even by persons who are said to be devout!”

On hearing this I said:  ‘Dear little One of my heart, let us recite three Glory Be’s, placing the intention of giving to your Divinity all the glory that the creature owes It, so You will receive at least a reparation.’  And He:  “Yes, yes, let us recite them.”  So we recited them together.  Then we recited one Hail Mary, placing the intention of giving the Queen Mother also all the glory that creatures owe Her.  Oh, how beautiful it was to pray with blessed Jesus!  I felt so much at ease that I said:  ‘My beloved, how I would like to make the profession of faith in your hands by reciting the Creed together with You.’  And He:  “The Creed you will recite by yourself, because that is for you, not for Me, and you will say it in the name of all creatures so as to give Me more glory and honor.”  So I placed my hands in His and I recited the Creed.

Most Holy Name of Mary

(Virgin Mary to Luisa):  Now, child of my Heart, pay attention to Me and listen: several days before the descent of the Eternal Word upon earth, I could see Heaven opened and the Sun of the Divine Word at Its doors, as though to look out for the one upon whom He was to take His flight, to render Himself Celestial Prisoner of one creature. Oh, how beautiful it was to see Him at the doors of Heaven, as though on the lookout to spy the fortunate creature who was to host her Creator! The Sacrosanct Trinity no longer looked at the earth as alien to It, because there was little Mary who, by possessing the Divine Will, had formed Its Divine Kingdom in which the Word could safely descend, as in His own residence, in which He would find Heaven and the many suns of the many acts of Divine Will done within my soul. The Divinity overflowed with love, and removing the mantle of Justice which It had worn with the creatures for so many centuries, It covered Itself with the mantle of infinite mercy, and decreed the descent of the Word… and It was now in the act of sounding the hour of fulfillment! At this sound, Heaven and earth were astounded, and all stood at attention, to be spectators of such a great excess of love, and a prodigy so unheard-of.

Your Mama felt ignited with love, and echoing the love of my Creator, I wanted to form one single sea of love, so that the Word might descend upon earth within it. My prayers were incessant, and while I was praying in my little room, an Angel came, sent from Heaven as messenger of the great King. He came before Me, and bowing, he hailed Me: “Hail, O Mary, our Queen; the Divine Fiat has filled You with grace. He has already pronounced His Fiat, for He wants to descend; He is just behind my shoulders, but He wants your Fiat to form the fulfillment of His Fiat.”


On October 7, 1990 Saint Anniable Maria Di Francia was declared “Blessed” by Pope John Paul II and was canonized on May 16, 2004, by Pope John Paul II.

The ‘errors’ contained in these writings, which will do good.  Firmness and stability in operating.

    I was thinking to myself:  ‘Who knows how much nonsense, how many errors are contained in these things I write!’  At that moment, I felt I was losing consciousness, and blessed Jesus came and said to me:  “My daughter, errors too will do good; and this, in order to make known that there is no artifice on your part, and that you are not some doctor, because if you were so, you yourself would realize where you were mistaken.  This will also make shine more that it is I who speak to you, by looking at it in a simple way.  However, I assure you that they will find not a shadow of vice or anything which is not virtue, because while you write, I Myself guide your hand.  At the most, they may find a few errors at first sight, but if they look at them thoroughly, they will find the truth.”

    Having said this, He disappeared, but after a few hours He came back.  I was feeling all hesitant and concerned about the words He had spoken to me, and He added:  “My heritage is firmness and stability; I am not subject to any change, and the more the soul draws near Me and advances on the path of virtues, the firmer and more stable she feels in operating good.  And the farther she remains from Me, the more she will be subject to changing and oscillating – now toward good, now toward evil.


VOL. 6 – December 3, 1904

The ‘mistakes’ contained in these writings.  Two questions to know whether it is God or the devil that operates in Luisa.

Continuing in my usual state, I found myself outside of myself, cast to the ground, before the sun, whose rays penetrated through the whole of me, inside and out, leaving me as though enchanted.  After much time, tired of that position, I began to crawl on the ground, for I did not have the strength to get up and walk.  Then, after I struggled very much, a virgin came, who took me by the hand and led me inside a room, on a bed, in which there was Baby Jesus placidly sleeping.  Content for having found Him, I placed myself near Him, but without waking Him up.  After some time, as He woke up, He began to stroll on the bed, and I, fearing that He might disappear, said:  ‘Pretty little One of my heart, You know that You are my life – O please, do not leave Me!’  And He:  “Let us establish how many times I must come.”  And I:  ‘My only Good, what are You saying?  Life is always necessary; therefore always – always.’  In the meantime two priests came, and the Baby withdrew into the arms of one of them, commanding me to speak with the other.  This one wanted an account of my writings, and was reviewing them one by one.  Fearing, I said to him:  ‘Who knows how many mistakes are in there!’  And he, with affable seriousness, said:  “What mistakes? Against the Christian law?”  And I:  ‘No, grammar mistakes.’  And he:  “This doesn’t matter.”  And I, gaining confidence, added:  ‘I fear that it may be all an illusion.’  And he, looking straight at me, replied:  “Do you think I need to review your writings to know whether you are a deluded one or not?  With two questions I will ask you, I will know whether it is God or the devil that operates in you.  First, do you think that you have deserved all the graces that God has given you, or that they have been gift and grace of God?”  And I:  ‘Everything by the grace of God.’  “Second, do you think that in all the graces that the Lord has given you your good will has anticipated grace, or that grace has anticipated you?”  And I:  ‘Certainly grace has always anticipated me.”  And he:  “These answers make me know that you are not a deluded one.”  At that moment I found myself inside myself.

VOL. 36 – June 20, 1938

    “Every Word can be called a ‘Portent of Love,’ one Greater than the other.  Therefore trying to touch these Writings is wanting to touch Myself, the Center of My Love, the Loving keenness with which I Love creatures.  I will know how to defend Myself and confound anyone who would slightly disapprove of even one Word of what is written on My Divine Will.  Therefore, continue to listen to Me, My daughter; don’t obstruct My Love, don’t tie My arms by rejecting back into My Womb what you keep writing.  These Writings cost Me too much.  They cost Me as much as Myself.  Therefore, I will take so much care of Them that I will not allow even a Word to be lost.”

“Silence is necessary to hear what God says to the soul. The language that God hears the most is silent love. “

(St. John of the Cross)

Sisters, brothers, the Light of the Divine Will that was given to us as a Gift, invites us to deepen also inner silence, that is silence in God, which has no word, that serves the human creature, while the Word of God is the Voice of the Spirit.

Inner silence is not to be confused with the silence that makes a person intentionally silent and turned in on himself, like a wilted flower, because it does not absorb the Divine Dew. This is to close the doors to God and neighbor, because it lacks the strength and momentum toward filial and fraternal Communion with Him and with his brother.

“The more you stand silent, the less you feel bad.”

(S. T. Benedicta of the Cross)

The more you cultivate silence, the more one regains his sonship and familiarity with the Father, received in the Act of Creation.

“The sign of man’s familiarity with God is that God places him in the garden.255 There he Lives “to till it and keep it.” (C.C.C. 378)

The Eden where man was placed, was the Home of intimate Silence, chaos arose from the rebellion produced by disobedience, when everything was turned upside down and the interior of man lost its Orientation, which made Communion with the Creator difficult.

“Those who live in noise live in restlessness, while those who Live in inner silence Live in the Peacefulness of God, and the restlessness of wanting to know and communicate ever more with God is born.” (Papa Francesco)

Beloved, growth is the quality of our spiritual life, depending greatly on Silence in God, that is, by direct contact with Him.

We must recover the lost Silence. How many words, looks, and other unnecessary actions, could be eliminated if we cultivate inner Silence! The wisdom of S. Dominic is fitting: “Talk with God, or talk of God.”

You have to fall in Love with God by falling in Love with Silence, though not without the renunciation of the human will, in order to espouse the Divine Will.

At the head of any direct manifestation by God there is the Silence that becomes active. When God breaks the Silence, He brings forth His Power ad extra to speak to mankind and call us to himself through whatever form. The voice of the prophets, of the patriarchs and of those who helped prepare the Era of Salvation, is the mouth of the Silent speaking of God.

God also uses the same method for every single soul, if she corresponds. Her intimate Life becomes the Garden of the Divine Farmer who Silently cultivates the Seeds of the many Truths that in the same Silence were endowed in man’s inner being.

This is the Fruit of Silence in God and of the Silence of God.

Direct contact with God, consisting of Spiritual Silence, can be distinguished in several categories that help us to direct our lives according to the Divine Will, and they are: Silent speaking that makes us listen to the Silent Voice of God through Creation. This Voice speaks to the human heart through the sparkling of the stars, of the moon that governs her activity, of the shining and fruitful sun, of the waters, of the air you breathe, and of all that the universe encompasses.

There is Silent communicating that speaks very little but operates especially with the testimony of Life. Let us go to Silence in prayer, that as incense it raises the heart to God in order to praise Him, thank Him and bless Him, it links us to the exultant Silence mentioned in the Gospel of Luke when the crowd rejoiced and praised God, and the Pharisees: Master rebuke your disciples. But he said, I tell you, if these were Silent, the stones would cry out. “ (Lk 19: 37 to 40)

In particular, we want to deepen fruitful silence, which worked wonders in Mary. She, the Fruitful Virgin, the Virgin Mother, having received the Divine Fecundity, in the Silent Act in which She Conceived, gave Birth to the Word of the Father, and this occurred in the deepest Silence, in the Silence of the little House that was Mary’s Virginal Womb, without wishing to downplay the stones, which also were spectators of so great a Mystery, but the House in which the Word became Incarnate was made of Heaven, of Light, it was the Seat of the Trinity because Mary was Living in and with the Divine Will.

Luisa:  “…all we should care about is to bring with us the Will of God, which is not a house made of stone, but of Light, ” (From Letter #118)

In that ambience of Silence, unrelated to external noise, Mother and Son enjoyed Divine Silence. This was the invisible House of Nazareth. The Womb of Mary, fecund Womb, Womb that kept the Mystery of Salvation made by Crosses and Silence. Amid the stones and the environment that guarded the Divine Persons, Silence excelled.

“Oh! If were reborn in us the esteem for Silence, admirable and indispensable Atmosphere of the Spirit: while we are dazed by so many clamorous noises, sounds and voices in the frantic and tumultuous life of our time. “Oh! Silence of Nazareth, teach us to be resolute in Good thoughts, intent to inner Life, ready to hear the Secret Inspirations of God. “(Pope Paul VI)

Brethren, little House of the Eucharist, the Tabernacle, is not far.  In that Silence Lives Jesus Himself, the same Word made Flesh, who goes in search of a little living, Silent house, that comes closest to the Silent Womb of His Mama. Jesus wants all Silenced around Him: passions, self-love, inordinate and interested zeal. And the ego? It is not compatible with the Spiritual Silence, because it is the cause of internal disorder. But Jesus, to bridge the gap, breaks the Silence and speaks to the heart of each one: I have covered Myself with the Eucharistic Veils so as not to strike fear, and  I have descended into the deepest abyss of humiliations.” (Vol. 15 – March 27, 1923)

What to say about the Divine Silence that is the Silence of God Himself?

It is the Silence that is King in the Trinitarian Family.

The multiple forms of Divine Silence fill the heavens and earth with the Glory of their Creator: “The Heavens and earth are full of Your Glory.” (From the Liturgy)

The Silence of God, equal to His Unique and Continuous Act, multiplies without noise, but with a Light that absorbs the human eye in order to transform the soul into a Devouring Fire, that Fire which Jesus came to bring on earth:  I have come to bring Fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled. ” (Luke 12:49)

Silence is essential to the Life of the Spirit. Ask yourself, dearest souls, why man labors beyond measure, why he feels the need for a Silent Sanctuary where the soul can relax in the shade of the Beauties of Creation, the high mountains and crystal clear waters?

It is because God has given us, through Grace, His Silence, made of Peace, of Serenity and of relaxing in Him.

Silence comes in the many Gifts donated by the Creator to the creature, before then crowning him with the Gift of His Most Holy Will. One of the Prerogatives of Silence is Wisdom.  The wise man is Silent, his words are communicative and short, and this leads to the acquisition of discernment and to self-knowledge: to know oneself is a Gift.

Dearest friends, perhaps for some the language that comes forth from these droplets goes beyond ordinary, common concepts, but I assure you that is not so. They are more than current, the requirements of the times cannot shape, according to the human, what God has given us and what Jesus has told us, everything must be taken with Faith and Lived in Its Integrity. There may be special cases, distinct choices on the part of God, but that is part of the Design that belongs to Him alone.

Mary at Cana: “Do whatever He tells you. (Jn: 2,5) Doing that is the certainty that you are doing everything you can to correspond to Grace, not without renunciation, but kissing the Cross as Jesus Kissed It.

The Divine Will is the Crystalline Sea where you can find the Beauty that It contains in Its Depth. These Riches are the many Seeds of Virtue that God has deposited in the soul, including Silence.

Now it’s up to us to care for Them, water Them, appreciate Them, so that They become strong and tall trees, in order to rise again to the Sanctity of our First Origin.

Courage and Perseverance, brothers! God Loves us and wants to enjoy His Rest in our inner Silence.

He founded the men’s Order of Friars Minor, the women’s Order of St. Clare, and the Third Order of Saint Francis for men and women not able to live the lives of itinerant preachers followed by the early members of the Order of Friars Minor or the monastic lives of the Poor Clares.[1] Though he was never ordained to the Catholic priesthood, Francis is one of the most venerated religious figures in history.[1]

Francis’ father was Pietro di Bernardone, a prosperous silk merchant. Francis lived the high-spirited life typical of a wealthy young man, even fighting as a soldier for Assisi.[4] While going off to war in 1204, Francis had a vision that directed him back to Assisi, where he lost his taste for his worldly life.[4] On a pilgrimage to Rome, he joined the poor in begging at St. Peter’s Basilica.[4] The experience moved him to live in poverty.[4] Francis returned home, began preaching on the streets, and soon amassed a following. His Order was authorized by Pope Innocent III in 1210. He then founded the Order of Poor Clares, which became an enclosed religious order for women, as well as the Order of Brothers and Sisters of Penance (commonly called the Third Order).

In 1219, he went to Egypt in an attempt to convert the Sultan to put an end to the conflict of the Crusades.[5] By this point, the Franciscan Order had grown to such an extent that its primitive organizational structure was no longer sufficient. He returned to Italy to organize the Order. Once his community was authorized by the Pope, he withdrew increasingly from external affairs. In 1223, Francis arranged for the first Christmas manger scene.[4] In 1224, he received the stigmata,[4] making him the first recorded person to bear the wounds of Christ’s Passion.[6] He died during the evening hours of October 3, 1226, while listening to a reading he had requested of Psalm 140.

On July 16, 1228, he was pronounced a saint by Pope Gregory IX. He is known as the patron saint of animals, the environment, and is one of the two patron saints of Italy (with Catherine of Siena). It is customary for Catholic and Anglican churches to hold ceremonies blessing animals on his feast day of October 4.[7] He is also known for his love of the Eucharist,[8] his sorrow during the Stations of the Cross, and for the creation of the Christmas creche or Nativity Scene.[9]

Furthermore, of David it was said that he was an image of Me, so much so, that all of his psalms reveal my person; of Saint Francis of Assisi, that he was a faithful copy of Me.  It is said in the Holy Gospel:  ‘Be perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect’ – no less; it is also added that no one will enter the Kingdom of Heaven if he is not similar to the image of the Son of God; and many other things.  About all these, no one says that they have been exalted too much, and that these are things not conforming to truths spoken by my very mouth.  Only because to you I said that I wanted to compare you to the Virgin – to make you Her faithful copy, I have exalted you too much?  So, comparing those to Me was not exalting them, nor did anyone raise any doubt or difficulty; but then, comparing to the Virgin – that’s too much exaltation.  This means that they have not understood well the mission of the knowledge of my Will.  Indeed, I repeat to you that I not only place you near Her as Her little daughter, on Her maternal lap, that She may guide you, instruct you on how you must imitate Her, to become Her faithful copy by always doing the Divine Will; so that, from Her lap, you may pass onto the lap of the Divinity.  In fact, the mission of my Will is eternal, and it is precisely the mission of Our Celestial Father, who wants, commands, expects nothing else but that His Will be known and loved, that It be done on earth as It is in Heaven.  So you, making this eternal mission your own and imitating the Celestial Father, must want nothing else for yourself and for all but that my Will be known, loved and fulfilled.  And besides, when it is the creature who exalts herself, one should think about it; but when she remains at her place and I exalt her, all is permissible to Me – making one reach wherever I want, and the way I want.  Therefore, trust Me and do not be concerned.”


 articlespope_brazil-kiss130725_600_423_100VATICAN CITY, Oct 3 ― Pope Francis will outline how the Catholic Church should follow the humble example of St Francis of Assisi during an historic visit tomorrow to the hometown of the saint whose name he adopted.

Some 100,000 pilgrims and over 1,000 journalists are expected to follow the Argentine pope as he visits the sites associated with the mediaeval saint in the hilltown in Umbria in central Italy.

The son of a wealthy cloth merchant, Francesco Bernardone grew up an arrogant and war-mongering young man before his spiritual enlightenment.

He famously shed his robes in front of his father in a renunciation of earthly riches and donned a sackcloth to live like and for the poor.

“I want to talk about how the Church should take off its clothes, how in some way the Church should repeat the gesture of St Francis,” the bishop of Assisi, Domenico Sorrentino, quoted the pope as telling him ahead of the historic visit.

Francis, who has called for a “poor Church for the poor”, has said he wants to overhaul the 2,000-year-old institution, making it less “Vatican-centric” and closer to ordinary people.

One of his proposals was to use abandoned monasteries and convents to house refugees and there are rumours that he could announce the abandonment of archaic clerical titles.

Francis has set up a new council of eight cardinals from around the world to advise him in an unprecedented experiment to make Church government more “horizontal” and less hierarchical.

The eight held their first closed-door meetings with the pope this week in which the Vatican said they discussed how to “refresh” the Church and they will accompany him during his visit to Assisi.

The visit is due to begin at 0600 GMT and wrap up at 1700 GMT Friday, with the pope expected to meet groups of poor, sick and handicapped people who are being looked after by Catholic orders or charities.

Logistics and security are expected to be complicated but the pope’s bodyguards have said they have already had to adapt because of his constant desire to engage with his followers.

The pope has said the visit is a “pilgrimage” to visit the home of St Francis (1182-1226), whom he has praised for preaching peace, protecting all of God’s creation and reaching out to the needy.

St Francis, who is also the patron saint of Italy, was said to have heard God tell him: “Francis, go and repair my house which, as you can see, is falling into ruins” ― a reference to the Church.

That is the same message that cardinals expressed for the new pope at the dramatic conclave in which he was elected in March, following a wave of financial scandals and child abuse cases.

The saint’s gesture of renunciation by derobing took place in the bishop’s palace of Assisi on April 12, 1207 when his father asked him to return the riches he had given away to the poor.

The pope is expected to visit the room where the act took place and meet with poor people.

There is expectation in Vatican circles of a possible major announcement during the visit.

But leftist daily Il Fatto Quotidiano said the pope need look no further than the town of Assisi itself in his desire to clean up the Church.

The newspaper said that pilgrims and tourists are fleeced by religious institutions in the town and that former convents have been turned into hotels while no refectory offers free meals for the needy.

Francis’s visit to Assisi is different from that of his predecessors John Paul II and Benedict XVI because it is focussed on the saint’s message of poverty rather than that of inter-religious peace.

The trip will be the pope’s third in Italy after he visited the island of Lampedusa in July where he called for more tolerance of immigrants and Cagliari in Sardinia in September when he denounced “an idol called money”. ― AFP
